If debts are mounting, there are several critical traps to avoid, according to insolvency expert Paul Burness - who's seen the same mistakes the business world over. Don't hide your head in the sand, and be careful about seeking the advice of non-professionals. They may offer cheap or free advice, but it may not lead you out of trouble. Managing debt problems, even insolvency, is a hard road and often an emotional roller-coaster but with expert advice, you may well be able to work your way through the big issues. If you can't, then bankrupcty may await you - but Paul Burness says that even this should be viewed as an opportunity for a fresh start if there are no alternatives.
