As with all service industries, accountancy is facing a diverse set of challenges in the years ahead, with changing technology, professional education and the ability to influence government policy high on the list. Not surprisingly then, those things are also front of mind for current President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, Tim Gullifer. and his colleagues on the board as they develop a strategy for the future. Tim wants the institute to be "member-centric", as evidenced by his recent nationwide "road-show" to encourage members to vote on the big issue of the moment - the proposed merger with the Institute's sister body in New Zealand.
