Running Time: 8:34 Date: 01/10/2011 We weren't allowed to consult on airport privatisation in Australia, so we took our expertise overseas - with great success. Strategic airport consultancy Airbiz wasn't allowed to work on the privatisation of Australian airports for fear their clients would have an unfair advantage. They had to watch while overseas firms got the work. So they decided to reply in kind, and now - just a few years later - they have contracts in a score of cities and the jobs keep flowing in. Why? Founder Greg Fordham puts it down to Australian lateral thinking and a "can-do" attitude. And, by now, an impressive portfolio of projects successfully carried through. And there's another factor in the company's success: the team spirit that comes from taking part together in community projects, from helping clean up after the Victorian bushfires to providing support for the victims of the Christchurch earthquake. Greg Fordham says that if every business devoted just one day a year to the community, our grandchildren would grow up in a better world. Greg Fordham, AirbizTopics: Success Stories |
