Date: 01/09/2011 Continuing global uncertainty is making stock market volatility a way of life, but are there reasons for hope in the local investment scene? American and European debt problems, and the resulting jitters about another global recession, are all contributing to the wild gyrations we've seen recently on stock markets, both here and abroad. And the sluggish state of the Australian economy outside the resources boom areas is contributing to the general nervousness. But Elio D'Amato, CEO of Lincoln Stock Doctor, says there's opportunity in the market too, with quality stocks offering good value, having been sold down as prices ebbed and surged . The reporting season just concluded has shown - as expected - mixed results, especially in the retail and industrial sectors.
