Date: 02/07/2010 Job ads are on the increase again - if you're thinking of hiring more staff, now's the time to put your plans into action. Unemployment's staying low, more fulltime staff are being hired and job ads - especially online - are growing again. All signs, says Jason Snell of recruiting firm Final5, that business confidence in many areas is still on the rise. The GFC has left its mark, with employers keen to get full efficiencies from IT and other technologies before they hire, but a tighter job market is on the way back. If you want good people, he says, don't leave it your competitors to snap them up. But pay attention to your existing staff too - most people change jobs because they don't like their manager or don't feel challenged. Making them feel wanted is more cost-effective and less destabilising than having to replace them. Topics: Business Growth, Human Resources, Management |
