Nine months ago, David Meggs of P&S Business Brokers told us that the market for selling businesses was flat, with buyers holding sway and sellers often having a hard time of it. Now, he says, there are more positive signs in a number of business sectors, with overseas buyers on the lookout for solid, well-managed firms with good prospects. But sellers have to be flexible, and to make sure their business, their books and their systems are in the best possible shape to produce a good return.
