Date: 01/07/2011 If you're going for gold, in sport or in business, set your goals, keep them in front of you and break them into achievable chunks. Then stay positive, whatever the setbacks you encounter. Aiming for gold at the Sydney Olympics, Kerri Pottharst and her beach volleyball partner Natalie Cook set their goals out clearly and visibly - constant reminders of what they wanted to achieve. But they also broke them down into achievable chunks, drawing energy and confidence from each small success along the way. Kerri now passes on that message to people in business, emphasising that goal-setting, coupled with self-belief, commitment and resilience, can take you a long way. A positive, forward-looking approach will help you recover from the setbacks and get you back on your feet and in pursuit of your goals. As she has proved, it's a winning combination!
