Salary packaging CAN work for small business - and you may need it to attract and retain the best employees. Salary packaging is often thought of as a perk of working for a big company, but Aytunc Tezay of the Australian salary Packaging Industry Association says it can also work well for smaller companies wishing to hire or retain quality staff. He recommends outsourcing salary packaging to specialist firms who can develop and manage appropriate schemes, and says employees should be advised to seek their own professional advice. In most cases, there'll be no additional cost to the employer.
